The inside states "getting lucky means you found your car in the parking lot." Haven't decided if I like the paper combo. but it's done. Sorry it's blurry, I still haven't invested in a digital camera, as I haven't had the chance to research in depth (actually my hubby is buying it for work and I will just use it.....lol).

So sorry for no new posts lately. I have been side-tracked helping my sister put together a profile, for a domestic adoption. They have a little boy, Eric, who is also adopted and are wanting a sibling for him. So being the nice sister, I agreed to help.....lol. I made this card for the kids to send to an employee of the company. They gave the kids gifts for Christmas and I wanted to put a little effort out for the "thank you".

Frog's In The Slammer

Yip, I had to put the frog in "froggie jail". We have a small fish tank that has a beta and aquatic frog. My six year old decided we needed to go to the pet store and purchase some little neon fish. We have had a few before and they either disappeared or died. I always assumed the beta was to blame. We had been told the neons were compatible with beta fish. Anyway, we went to the store and purchased 3 of them and placed them in the tank.

Later I we cleaning off the counters when I looked over at the tank. I did a double take, as it first appeared the frog had one of the decorative pebbles in it's mouth. On a closer look, it was half of a neon fish!! I quickly tapped the tank hoping to startle the frog into releasing it, in hopes I was "in time". Well he released it and the fish was dead. Sooooooo off to a new container he went! So now a vase with roots of a water lily is going to be born. The frogs new jail cell............lol.

Ice Storm

I hope everyone in the storms path is OK. But I have to admit, I always have to smile when I see pictures of all the ice. Not in a mean way, but in fond memories.....

It was 16 years ago, come March, we experienced a similar storm in Indiana. A young red headed guy happened to be one of the guys working on the power lines. When he left, he took my heart with him. Here we are, 15 years later, still going strong. Ironically, it was the same ice storm and same crew that my sister's husband was working on.

Amazing "strength" those storms have:).

A card I put together today. Took a few days to get the colors together. Tried to make it look "shabby". I guess it isn't too bad for a first try. I need to invest in a distressing tool!!

This card looks so much better in person. I guess the knot made it scan funky. I got the idea for this card from Southern Style Stamping's blog. Sure wish I had not lost my creative portion of my brain when Marcail died..................

Fall Card

Here is a card I made for a fall swap. I used Colorbok card stock, Cuttlebug embossing folder (Swirl), oval stamp is from Stamping Bella and the "Thanks" stamp is from a kids kit from Michaels. I also used SU frame holder embellishments and SU Bravo Burgundy. Hopefully I will get it out in the mail this weekend.

Back To School................

Thurs. it was back to school for my boys. Zackery will be a full time kindergarten boy having the same teacher from his 1/2 days last year. On a whim, I made this card for her. The inside joke is Zackery can be VERY active and his voice tends to be a little higher pitched ( with a wild dialect). One day she told me that she needed a "squeak break" as he was very talkative that day.......lol. Anyway, don't look too close as anything that could go wrong with this card did. I swear every time I touched it something would happen..........sigh. So at 3 am the day school started, this is what I ended up with. I put it in a black bucket with all the items I put on the "check list".

This is the first ATC I ever made. I joined a small swap and the rule was it "must be something about you". Of course, I HAD to do India:). I could have added a few embellishments, but every thing I have is in a mess. I am trying to organize my house and did not have time to search around.

I'm hoping to turn my "walk-in closet" (that my hubby refuses to finish) into my craft room. Right now it is more for storage and a place to stash my shoes.........lol.

Icky Day

What an icky day.......... Rain and humidity.......ick. Makes it real "nice" when trying to mop the floor, while kids want to run around. Seth is having company tonight, so no choice, but to mop.

Anyone have any suggestions on getting rid of dry skin on the hands? Lotion isn't working and I'm tired of awful looking hands/nails:(

Trying This Blogging Thing Out

I have decided to see if I can blog. I have never been able to keep a journal, so we will see how this goes. I am hoping it will get me to make more cards and maybe even some scrapbook pages. Now if only my kids would agree to give mom some free time.............lol
